A Trilogy

Echoes of the
Forgotten Past

Seven tapes. A missing journalist. A city that doesn't let you leave.

Enter the Silence

Shadows of Sintra

After his grandfather's death, archivist Markus Valente finds seven reels of magnetic tape hidden in a tin box and a letter with no signature: "The tapes are waiting for you. Sintra, Rua das Sombras, 13. Do not trust the silence."

The tapes hold the voice of Isabella Correia — a journalist who traveled to Sintra in 1987 to investigate the tunnels beneath Quinta da Regaleira. She never came back. Her recordings did. Markus came to Sintra to fill a gap in his family's history. What he finds instead will fill a gap in him.

Three Books. Three Ways of Knowing.

I
Shadows of Sintra
Book I · Gothic Horror
Gothic Horror · Portugal · 1987–Present
An archivist inherits seven magnetic tapes and a letter with no signature. They lead him to Sintra, Portugal — a city where fog clings to ancient stones and silence has a voice. What he discovers will not stay in Sintra.
II
The Silence Axiom
Book II · Intellectual Thriller
Intellectual Thriller · New York · Present
New York. A psychoanalyst and a cosmologist are drawn into an investigation that challenges everything they know about the nature of consciousness. The deeper they look, the more they realize: some truths are not hidden — they are waiting.
III
Edge of Eternity
Book III · Cosmic Philosophy
Cosmic Philosophy · Galaxy · All Time
The final volume shifts from streets and tunnels to a scale beyond imagination. Everything you thought you understood changes. The trilogy ends with a question that has no safe answer.
It didn't start in Sintra.
It won't end there.

"My name is Isabella Correia. Today is the 13th of October, 1987. I am in Sintra to investigate Quinta da Regaleira. Officially, it is just an estate. But I feel something else is hidden here. Last night I heard music. It was rising from underground. And it was calling me."

Tape One · Isabella Correia

"The tapes chose you, Markus. They came to your grandfather by design. Now it is your turn to catalogue this story."

Doctor José Almeida

"You brought the cold with you, senhor. I know that look. That is the look of someone who walked too long in the fog near Quinta. You should leave."

Those Who Listened

Markus Valente
The Archivist
An archivist from Lisbon who has spent his life cataloguing the past. When his grandfather dies, he leaves behind seven magnetic tapes and a letter pointing to Sintra. Markus follows — driven by the one gap in history he cannot leave unfilled.
Isabella Correia
The Voice on the Tapes
A journalist from Porto who traveled to Sintra in 1987 to investigate the tunnels beneath Quinta da Regaleira. She recorded seven tapes. Then she vanished. Her voice is the only thing that survived.
Rafael Sousa
The Anchor
Historian, skeptic, Markus's oldest friend. Born in Sintra, he knows its legends better than anyone. He has his own reasons for returning — reasons he has never spoken about.

There are others. In other cities. Looking for the same thing.

Sintra, Portugal

This is where it begins. Later, the geography changes — from fog to glass towers, from tunnels to the spaces between stars.

Place
Quinta da Regaleira
A labyrinthine estate of grottoes, initiation wells, and underground tunnels carved into the hills of Sintra. A place where architecture, alchemy, and mythology intertwine — and where the boundary between the real and the imagined thins to nothing.
Place
Rua das Sombras, 13
The Street of Shadows. A narrow lane where houses lean into one another as if afraid of something unseen. Number 13 stands at the end — three stories of peeling plaster, shuttered windows, and a crumbling tower with a broken pane of glass.
Object
Seven Magnetic Tapes
Found in a tin box on a dead man's attic. Only the first bears a label: "Sintra, 1987." They contain the voice of a woman who disappeared thirty years ago. What else they contain is the question Markus should not have asked.
Atmosphere
The Fog
In Sintra, fog is not weather. It is landscape. It rises from the stones, clings to the castle spires, and fills the forests with an emerald haze. Tourists find it romantic. Those who stay too long find it something else entirely.

How far would you go to find the answer to the question that has haunted you since childhood?

Some stories are about heroes who fight evil. This is not one of them. This is a story about the price of knowing — and whether the mind that finally reaches the truth can still recognize itself. It begins in a house in Sintra. It does not end on this planet.

Cave, quaerens veritatem
Beware, seeker of truth

If You Loved These, You'll Love This

Atmosphere
H.P. Lovecraft
The dread of cosmic insignificance. The horror of knowledge that shatters the mind. But where Lovecraft refuses to explain, this trilogy dares to.
Philosophy
Stanisław Lem — Solaris
An intelligence beyond human comprehension. The futility of contact. The question of whether understanding is even possible — or desirable.
Scale
Liu Cixin — The Three-Body Problem
A story that begins in one room and ends among the stars. The architecture of a trilogy that expands with each volume until the universe itself is at stake.
Tension
Dark (Netflix)
Time loops, family curses, and the suffocating atmosphere of a European town hiding impossible secrets beneath its surface.
Heart
Annihilation — Jeff VanderMeer
The beauty and terror of transformation. A boundary that changes everyone who crosses it. The question of whether the person who returns is still the person who left.
A domo ad astra, ab astris ad silentium
From the house to the stars, from the stars to the silence

Seven tapes. One question.
Are you ready to hear the answer?
